Tarporley Vics.

Football Club

Cheshire League Division 2

Founded - 1947

History

Formed in 1947, Tarporley Vics were founder members of the Chester & District Football League. Despite there long reign in the league it wasn’t until recent times that saw the Vics flourish into the Club they are today.

The ball really started rolling, when with a young side, current manager Steve Lloyd led the club into its 1st League Cup Final in 20 years in May 2004. Despite losing in extra time, this proved to be the platform for future development. The following season, the Vics broke a league record in winning there opening 12 games in succession, en route to lifting the Premier League title. The Double was achieved a week later with a resounding performance in a 6.2 Cup Final triumph.

This development was part of a 5 year plan that was drafted together by the Vics committee to steer the club into the Mid-Cheshire League. In 2006, they were accepted into Division 2, finishing 11th in there debut season. Last season they continued there push for progression with a 6th place finish, at one stage in the final game of the 2007/08 season, they were only 30 minutes away from a promotion into Division 1.

Last season also saw the emergence of Tarporley Vics. Reserves, who finished 3rd in there debut season in the Crewe & District Saturday league. The aim of the club is to have both sides playing in the Cheshire League in the near future.

Tarporley Vics. Prides itself on the development of young players, in such a small catchment area, the club recruits at Reserve team level, in an attempt to develop toward 1st Team standard.
